John Lennon has become immortal through his music—an understatement—and Amnesty International is now tapping into that power to work towards ending the crisis in Darfur. Amnesty recently released a compilation album of John Lennon covers by a variety of artists this month titled, Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur.

Beatles fan won’t hide his love away

Dean Herron got a “ticket to ride.” His own specially designed Beatles Honda motorcycle includes a yellow submarine, peace signs, likenesses of the Fab Four and lyrics, its license plate reads “Beatle”, and it has won a few awards, including one at Louisville’s recent Beatles festival.

Beatles Ashram faces govt apathy

The ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in India is in a sorry dilapidated state because of government apathy. The ashram is popular among foreign tourists because it is the place where the Beatles stayed in 1967 and penned some of their most memorable songs.
