Apple said to have third Beatle

Apple has reached a deal with former Beatle Ringo Starr for the distribution of his solo work through the iTunes store, according to media reports. Starr’s solo albums released on Koch Records are already available through the store, but the latest addition reportedly concerns music released on EMI.

Songwriters reveal top 10 tracks

Strawberry Fields features in a poll of famous song writers by Q Magazine to find the 10 greatest tracks. “You can play Strawberry Fields Forever on an acoustic guitar and it sounds beautiful,” said Serge Pizzorno, of Kasabian. “But the Beatles took the song to its furthest point, and the results are mind-bending.”

Beatles songs inspire original production

“A Day in the Life” is an original musical whose story is told through Beatles song lyrics. Starting tomorrow night, the Main Street Theatre Co.’s stage in North Brunswick, NJ, will convert to a cozy restaurant where audiences will take a journey with characters from Beatles songs.
