New Phil Spector production on the air in Los Angeles

On Sunday Sept. 9th, Chris Carter, host of America’s longest running Beatles show, Breakfast with the Beatles which airs on 95.5 KLOS-FM in Los Angeles, world premiered a new Phil Spector production.

The song by the artist Hargo is called Crying for John Lennon. There have been many reports about this song over the past few months but this was the first time the song was played in public. The track was produced by Spector prior to the beginning of his trail in March 2007.

According to reports, so impressed was Spector the first time he heard Hargo, he ditched scheduled production work with Australian rockers The Vines to team up with the singer. Crying For John Lennon will also appear in the upcoming documentary Strawberry Fields: Keeping The Spirit Of John Lennon Alive.

Spector, who worked with late Beatle Lennon in the early 1970s, says, “It’s a wonderful song.

Actually it sounds like something John would have given me produce back in the day.”

Southern California’s No. 1 rated Beatles show, Breakfast with the Beatles has greeted Los Angelinos on Sunday mornings for 24 years. The show is informative, biographical, and filled with Beatles (and solo Beatle) music that ranges from the ultra familiar to the ultra rare.
