McCartney heeft een hart van de Amerikaanse leerlingen.
Sir Paul McCartney heeft een gitaar geschonken aan een goed doel. Met de opbrengst van de veiling zullen muziekinstrumenten gekocht worden voor leerlingen in Amerikaanse scholen.
De voormalige Beatle schonk een gesigneerd exemplaar om te veilen tijdens een gala in New York. Er waren heel wat bekende sterren aanwezig. Bill Clinton, Mariah Carey, Quincy Jones, James Blunt en Jon Bon Jovi waren van de partij. Ze geloven dat muziekale opvoeding op school belangrijk is. (vsv)

For some utterly silly reason, Tim from Radio Clash asked if I had a copy of “Bugs and Friends Sing The Beatles,” a collection of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, and other Warner Bros. cartoon characters singing the Fab Four. Why would he think I could possibly own such a ridiculous album? I mean, I do, but that’s besides the point! Honestly, I’ve been meaning to trade it in for something serious. Maybe some Leonard Cohen. That’s how serious I am.

The Beatles Photographs by Michael Peto

A unique photographic exhibition of The Beatles is coming to the National Conservation Centre in August. ‘Now These Days Are Gone’ is an exhibition of informal shots, taken on the set of HELP! by Michael Peto, one of the great photojournalists of the 1960s.
Taken in 1965, they mark the metamorphosis of the Beatles from pop stars into the most famous band in history against the backdrop of a decade of great social and cultural change.
The exhibition of over 40 images demonstrates Peto’s unobtrusive approach, which enabled him to fade into the background and capture his subjects in a relaxed, natural manner.
These photographs of the Beatles came to light during the digitisation of Michale Peto’s collection of 130,000 prints and negatives, donated by his family to the University of Dundee following his death in 1970.
This exhibition has been produced by the University of Dundee, the custodians of the Michael Peto photographic collection.
Admission FREE.
