That’s when, at 8 p.m. ET, Feb. 9, 1964, CBS’s The Ed Sullivan Show — the must-see TV of the Eisenhower-Kennedy-Johnson-Nixon era — introduced to American audiences four polite, neatly dressed, progressively “mop-top” early-twentysomethings from Liverpool named John, Paul, George and Ringo, a.k.a.
