An unheard piece of music by Sir Paul McCartney is to get its world premiere in Derby – played by one of the world’s best brass bands.
The Black Dyke Band will perform the piece, which was written as a tribute to Sir Paul’s wife Linda, at Derby Cathedral on Saturday, February 23.
Mrs McCartney died in 1998 and, following her death, the former Beatle wrote the lament as an additional piece to his oratorio, Ecce Cor Meum – Latin for “Behold My Heart”.
