Feature-Length Documentary Chronicles The Making Of The Beatles’ “LOVE” by Cirque du Soleil

On June 23, 2008 Apple Corps Ltd./Cirque du Soleil will release the feature-length documentary ‘All Together Now’ on DVD, which will be marketed and distributed worldwide by EMI Music. The film details the story behind the unique partnership between The Beatles and Cirque du Soleil that resulted in the creation and launch of “LOVE,” the stage production still wowing audiences at The Mirage in Las Vegas, and the double Grammy-winning album of the same name. The film is dedicated to the memory of Neil Aspinall, an Executive Producer of the DVD.

They’re The Oz and they work hard. As I listened to this CD, ‘Che Lennon’, I saw John Lennon’s smile across the sky. He’d have loved it. I really did. Interspersed with little clips of interviews, in a Pink Floyd kind of way, The Oz cranks out the best of Lennon’s rebellious songs. This ain’t no Beatles cover band, but they make no bones about being Beatle fans from Russia. Buy this CD Now: Punk Opera: CheLennon.

Nieuw Boek over Lennon

Er is weer een nieuws boek verschenen over John Lennon. Het heet Instamatic Karma en is geschreven door May Pang, met wie Lennon in de seventies een relatie had. Het boek telt 140 paginas en naast veel fotos staan er ook interessante onthullingen in. Zo is te lezen dat Lennon overwoog om het partnerschap met McCartney weer op te pakken. Nadat het stel samen met Paul en z’n vrouw Linda hadden gedineerd, vroeg Lennon aan Pang: “Do you think I should write with Paul again?” Waarop Pang bevestigend antwoordde met daarbij de toevoeging dat ze als duo beter waren dan als solisten. Toen John terug ging naar Yoko, kwam er niets van de plannen terecht.

Paul McCartney op tour met Heather Mills. Om zijn 5 jarige dochter geregeld te kunnen zien zal hij ook de moeder mee moeten nemen op tour. De tour die 14 maanden gaat duren zal dan ook de kosten voor dochter en kind op zijn rekening komen. Een insider zei: Hij heeft ingezien dat hij een deal met Heather moet sluiten om de stijd op een minimum te beperken. Vrienden vinden dit wel een groot risico want zij is erg onberekenbaar en dan kan er van alles gebeuren.

Wij attenderen jullie erop dat wij met Koninginnedag 30 april a.s. een speciale Beatles sessie spelen van 1 1/2 uur lang in de feesttent bij Poelzicht te Vreeswijk als onderdeel van het Poelzicht Plein Popfestival wat een week lang duurt.
