Paul McCartney: ‘I Want to Work With The Wombats’

Paul McCartney has revealed he’d like to produce upcoming British rockers The Wombats. He said, “I had one of the guys from The Wombats in one of my classes. It was great. Now years later they’re doing great.” But he admits that he hasn’t produced much music recently, and suggested they may not
want to work with him.

NY judge: Film can use Lennon song

Yoko Ono lost her legal bid Monday to stop the playing of a 15-second excerpt of John Lennon’s song “Imagine” in a film challenging the theory of evolution. Yoko sued that they didn’t have he permission, but U.S. District Judge Sidney Stein ruled that if the case went to court, the filmmakers would probably win under the fair use doctrine.

McCartney gets back to where he once belonged

As promises go, it was a modest one that Paul McCartney issued before his first Liverpool show in five years. “We’re going to have a good night out, that’s all I ever aim to do,” he said. Nevertheless, the 36,000 people who gathered to watch the biggest single event of this year’s European Capital of Culture celebrations couldn’t help but harbour high expectations.
