CLINTON TOWN —Downtown merchants will turn Main Street into Penny Lane for an all-day music festival
featuring a special guest author.

The Clinton Guild are sponsoring The BeatlesFest Music Festival from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 22
with an open air pedestrian mall, live music all day long, and a book signing appearance by John
Lennon’s former companion and friend.

For the first time ever, Main Street will be closed from Lower Center Street to Leigh Street to
accommodate the performance stage for Beatles tribute band “BeatleLegacy,” who will re-create from
4 p.m. to 8 p.m. the look and sound of the original Fab Four in songs from three distinct periods.

“A traffic-free Main Street will allow spectators to walk freely throughout town while enjoying the
music and good times presented by area merchants and the Town of Clinton,” said organizer Anne
Rossi, one of the Clinton Guild organizers.

Those attending will be able to enjoy food from area restaurants and visit the many shops, which
merchants will be decorating with a retro 1960s style, and offering specials in honor of the event,
which officially begins from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a live remote broadcast by “The Hawk” radio
station 99.9 FM from a van on Main Street.

Special guest author/photographer May Pang will sign copies of her new book “Instamatic Karma:
Photographs of John Lennon,” and tell her first-hand stories of the Beatles legend at 3:30 p.m. at
the Clinton Book Shop at 33 Main St.

Pang was employed as personal assistant to Lennon and Yoko Ono in the early 1970s, and was
hand-picked by Ono to accompany Lennon on his extended trip to Los Angeles, often referred to as
his “Lost Weekend” period, although actually a prolific and commercially successful time.

The day also will feature a raffle drawing for a 47-inch plasma TV and a 50/50 drawing with a
portion of the proceeds to benefit the Clinton Fire Department, the Clinton First Aid & Rescue
Squad, the Hunterdon Museum of Art, the Red Mill and the Clinton Guild.

The bridge and Lower Center Street will remain open, so shoppers and visitors will be directed into
the parking lots behind the municipal building, on Water Street and at the Community Center.

guaranteed for all.
