Rare Beatles pictures go on display

And the man who took the snaps on what became known as the band’s Mad Day Out’ will also make a rare public appearance at the Chalfont Art and Framing Gallery.

Beatles tribute band to entertain this weekend as part of 125th celebration – Lake Region State College

The Abbey Road Band, a Beatles tribute band, will be performing Saturday night at Lake Region State College. The band was recently added to the line-up of performers that will help Devils Lake celebrate its 125th birthday this weekend.

A Box Of Wonders From Lennon’s Solo Years

THIRTY YEARS LATER, RINGO WOULD say he thought John was cracking up, right there in the middle of Shea Stadium. It was August 1965. There was the usual white noise from the stands–56,000 fans screaming in unison–and Lennon seemed convinced no one could hear a thing. Onstage, he cavorted with a deranged glee, announcing songs in gibberish and gesturing theatrically to the heavens. While Paul McCartney sang “I’m Down,” Lennon played an organ with his elbows. Years later, fans were surprised when Lennon, as a solo artist, embraced the avant-garde. But think about Shea Stadium. A pop star speaking gibberish to an audience that can’t hear him anyway: if that’s not performance art, what is?
