Cool hand uke: The Cars’ Greg Hawkes does the Beatles

Greg Hawkes saw the Beatles play the Baltimore Civic Center on Sept. 13, 1964. He was 11.

That night something joyous exploded in his head. Already taking piano and clarinet lessons, he began to learn guitar. The first Beatles song he played was “She Loves You.”

Amoeba Secret show eindelijk op CD

Paul McCartney’s Amoeba Secret Show zal eindelijk toch offieel op CD verschijnen, dit naar aanleiding van het feit dat deze show genomineerd is voor een Grammy Award. Paul McCartney’s Amoeba Secret verscheen al eerder op vinyl op een zeer beperkte oplage, er waren toen 6.000 exemplaren hiervan verkocht (voornamelijk in Amerika).

Podcasts Beatles van Noorse omroepsite gehaald

AMSTERDAM – Wij hebben een teleurstellende mededeling. De 25 Beatlesliedjes die woensdagmiddag nog op de site van de omroep NRK (de Noorse BBC) stonden, zijn er alweer afgehaald. Woensdag, omstreeks een uur of drie, haalden we nog 25 podcasts op van http://podkast.nrk.no/program/beatles_komplett.rss, van Love me do tot Devil in her heart. Het waren de eerste 25 podcasts van de 212 die in de loop van deze maand op de site van NRK zouden verschijnen, alle 212 songs die de Beatles op de plaat hebben gezet.
