The former Beatle talks about karma, wealth, nostalgia, fame and his new LP, Electric Arguments

By Kristine McKenna

I imagine you know who Paul McCartney is, but here are some recent data: He’s 66 years old, single and financially secure. He recently released Electric Arguments, the third album by Fireman, an ongoing McCartney side project that represents the former Beatle’s foray into trance and dance music. Composed of McCartney and British producer/deejay Youth, Fireman opens its third full-length release with “Nothing Too Much Just Out of Sight,” a tune that features the most bone-rattling vocal McCartney’s delivered since “Helter Skelter.” The first time I heard it on the radio, I thought it was Jack White. For the first time in Florida the artistic side of two legendary musicians will be displayed… together! Jerry Garcia and John Lennon will be remembered as great luminaries, visionaries, poets and icons of the 20th century. They were primarily musicians, but before John was a Beatle and Jerry was a member of the Greatful Dead, they were artists. “Deadheads” and Beatle fanatics will have the opportunity to take a trip… down memory lane. This is the only opportunity in South Florida to see artwork by these two kindred spirits in one place! Presented in partnership with Legacy Productions. Admission is a suggested $2 donation. Donations will benefit Old School Square’s Kickin’ Arts and ART FUNdamentals programs.
