New classical recording to include version of Eleanor Rigby
Napster has teamed up with EMI Classics to record its first live classical session at the renowned Abbey Road Studios. The recording, which will be offered exclusively to Napster’s member community, will feature British tenor Alfie Boe, and will include a special version of the classic Beatles song, Eleanor Rigby.

Songwriters reveal top 10 tracks
Strawberry Fields features in a poll of famous song writers by Q Magazine to find the 10 greatest tracks. “You can play Strawberry Fields Forever on an acoustic guitar and it sounds beautiful,” said Serge Pizzorno, of Kasabian. “But the Beatles took the song to its furthest point, and the results are mind-bending.”

Julian Lennon sells stake in Beatles songs
Julian Lennon has sold a financial stake in his late father’s compositions for the Beatles to Primary Wave Music Publishing. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but the parties are quoted as saying in a statement that the share of the catalog was “significant.”
